I'm directing this article to those who are just starting their eBay Selling Venture.  Whether you're selling books, DVDs, CDs, collectibles or clothing, all things (with the exception of eBooks and services) need to be mailed.   And it's the postage, handling fees and mailing that seems to cause a great deal of angst among new sellers. 

You've heard the advice – don't overcharge for shipping.  That is very good advice, indeed, as nothing turns off potential buyers like sellers who gouge you on the shipping costs.  It's also a practice that can rack up bad feedback.

However, I'm going to play Devil's Advocate here and suggest that you don't go overboard and give so much of a break on shipping that you're chipping away at your profits.  It's good to remember the "hidden costs" of shipping:  bubble wrap to secure your breakables, tape, shipping envelopes, boxes, etc.  Then there's the gas you put in your car to take all those trips to the post office.

You might think I'm being cheap, but, if you added up all your eBay expenses for the year (as some did for their recent taxes) you might be shocked to see how all the packing materials and gas for your car added up and took a little chunk out of your eBay profits.  And, believe me, they do add up.

Some people are even more surprised to find they underestimated the weight of their packages, causing their profits to shrink even further. 

How can you be fair to both you and your buyers?

1.  Buy a scale.  It may sound simple, but purchasing a scale can save you a bundle in shipping.  If you're just eyeballing the weight of the package, you can often times guess too low, and be in for quite a shock when you go to the post office and see the package is going to cost twice what you thought to ship. 

2.  Know the dimensions of your packaging before listing the item.  Some packages cost more to ship because of their dimensions.  Knowing the weight alone isn't enough. 

3.  Offer the buyer a variety of shipping methods.  Some prefer speedy delivery with Express mailing, while some prefer to save money with parcel post even though the wait is longer. It's always a good idea when using parcel post or other slower ground shipping to alert the buyer by email that it can take anywhere from 8 to 10 days.

4.  Save yourself money whenever possible by using boxes that have been used.  Most stores are more than happy to let you rummage through their old boxes and take some home with you.  But, do remember to choose boxes that are presentable, secure and strong enough for your items.  And, if you have breakables, don't skimp on the bubble wrap.

5.  Give yourself a small handling fee that will cover your expenses.  Some sellers add on an additional $1 or $2 to the shipping fees for their handling fees (depending on the cost of the item and how much packaging you have to use).  I really advocate doing this because your expenses will add up if you do a lot of selling on eBay.  Be sure to be upfront with your buyers that you have a small handling fee so they can't complain about it later. 

Being fair to both yourself and your buyer will keep you both happy, and keep more of your profit in your pocket.

This is a subject that everyone seems to be arguing about at the moment. Everyone trying to second-guess Google's actions - which they will NEVER do - and wondering whether reciprocal linking is dead, dying or if it is something worth carrying on.

'Nuff of the speculation. Here's the proof.

Google do not like reciprocal link directories and they can sniff one out a mile off. There was (notice the use of the past tense here) a link directory on my site until recently, but I have now removed it, because it had become as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Whilst the main front page of the site has retained it's Google PageRank of PR5, in one of their last updates, Google relegated that directory, which had also  previously had a PR5, to a PR 0.

Meanwhile, I had not altered my linking structure that pointed to it. I had not altered my policies either: I did not link TO any PR0 sites, kept the number of links per page down to a minimum and there were even text descriptions for each entry listed.

Google could tell what it was and acted as they saw fit.

There is no point wondering or whining about it. They can and they are doing so in order to provide better results to searchers. You can like it or lump it, but if you want them to give you decent listings, ranks or send you any traffic, their rules count.

My advice: forget *artificial* reciprocal linking completely. The time taken to maintain the directory, approve/disaprove submissions (mostly the latter,  because the only people still asking for links are crappy PR0 sites and spammers) can be much better spent.

When you want to exchange links with other sites, make sure you do so in a natural way, by which I mean write about the other site in some way and place natural links within the body text.

And consider just giving to get. By which I mean, link out to useful things for the edification or entertainment of your visitors giving no consideration to the  immediate usefulness of that link to you.

What goes around will come around. Once you are seen as useful, others will link to you. You do then get your links "reciprocated", but it may not be from  the same people to whom you linked.

That is the natural way of linking that Google wants to see.

Do not, under any circumstances, maintain anything (other than internal navigation) that could look like merely a list of links / link farm, because Google  will find it, won't like it and will penalize it.

Reciprocal linking, in the form of lists or directories merely created for that very purpose cannot do anything to help you with Google (quite the opposite, in fact) and therefore, est mortuus. [RIP]

You have to learn to become a web designer, writer, marketer, and about 5 other jobs to create a successful Internet business. None of these things happen overnight either. It requires a lot of dedication and skill. But more importantly you must acquire the Know-how. Education is useless if you don't know how to apply it.

It's obvious that the benefits of submitting your own articles to various different article directories are simply amazing.
You get free publicity.
You don't pay for advertising.
You can have your own articles as a viral marketing tool.
And, much much more.
But, wait a minute.
"I can't write. How can I submit my articles if I don't even have one written?"
If this does not describe you and you're already writing good articles on your own, then what are you waiting for?

I don't blame you for it but I believe this is a problem that can be fixed. I used to have no idea to write at all, but I knew my problem was because I was trying to write about something I didn't know.
It's a bit confusing but let me rephrase. Find something that you know a great deal about and if you are passionate enough about the topic, your juice will flow like water. Your head will generate more ideas than your writing speed can catch up.
For further help on writing an article, here are a few tips.
1. Enumerate your points, like what I'm doing now. A 500-word article can have 7 or 10 short points in it.
2. Look at some other articles of the same interest. Model (not copy) the writing skills of others.
3. Write your articles like writing stories. Writing your own experience sometimes help.
4. Write like you talk. Forget about grammar in your first round of writing. Go back to the article and fix your mistakes once the article is finished.
5. Write, write and write. Nothing helps more than practice. Your first article won't be good, but the second one will be better. The hundredth article will be much better than the 50th. So, write more.
Still stuck with writer's block? Then, I suggest two ways to get around.
1. Hire ghostwriters to write exclusively for you.
Ghostwriters are authors who will write on your behalf on any topics that you assign them. They'll charge you for their service.
When the articles are complete, they are yours to keep. You can claim the authorship of the articles, put your name on these articles and often, claim the copyrights of the articles too.
Many Internet marketers are doing it simply because they don't have time to write or they don't have any expertise on the topics that they want to write.
2. Join private label article membership clubs.

For less than thirty dollars a month, you can get tons of contents which you can private label them with your own name.
But, be very careful because article directory owners don't like duplicate contents in their databases. Make sure you modify the content of each article before you submit them to any article directory. You don't want your name to get banned by these article directories.
On a special note, majority of private label rights operators put a cap on their membership sites. As soon as they have enough members, you won't be allowed to join them until the existing members cancel their membership.

As more and more wine makers discovered Chardonnay, the fine wine began to grow quite well in South Africa and other areas as well. With it being a non aroma type wine, oak seems to work very well with it. The richest and most complex are American and French Chardonnay, which are also among the most preferred white wines. Even though it does suffer from fatigue, the flavor and richness of this wine will keep it loved by many for years to come.
Chardonnay originated from the Burgundy and Champagne area of France. Although white Burgundy is a popular wine that is prepared with Aligote, a lesser known grape, the fact remains that white Burgundy can't be made without the use of Chardonnay grape. What this goes to show, is that Chardonnay grapes have more than a few uses.
In appearance, Chardonnay grapes are green in color with thin skins. The grape is a result of the Pinot and Croatian Blanc grape, which are extinct to this day. Chardonnay on the other hand is still popular, fermented and aged using oak barrels that help to bring out the vanilla flavor the wine is well known for. It can also be aged and fermented using bottles, although it won't age quite as much as red wine.
Almost all Chardonnay wines are considered to be chilled, making them work extremely well with dishes that contain butter and cheeses. The wines also have less acid content as well, which makes them work well with seafood as well. There are a lot of food that you can pair Chardonnay with, which is what makes it so popular. A lot of fine restaurants serve it as well, especially Italian and seafood restaurants.
The Chardonnay grape can also be used in making Champagne and other types of sparkling wines. Although Chardonnay wine is the most popular use, there are several other uses for the grape that lead to some truly fine wines. Oak is often times used with the wine as well, which provides it with some great flavors as it ages. Although it can be a bit on the expensive side, it still remains one of the most preferred types of wine. 5. Vista has next generation features, where the system has enough inbuilt intelligence that organizes data. This fine tunes any searches that need to be done. In comparison to this,    the Tiger has an old fashioned system with no specials.

6. Vista supports meta data processing while with Tiger meta data can be created or edited only by using document processing applications.

7. Vista permits users to visually locate files while Tiger does not. Image previews in Tiger are turned off  by default.

8. As far as security is concerned the Tiger is by far superior to Vista. Since the Tiger user base is small the number of hackers and attackers are fewer as compared to Windows.

9. User accounts and log ins are safer in the Tiger system and Microsoft plans to incorporate similar systems in Vista to strengthen security.

10. Vista has new systems similar to Tiger that will enable users to assert parental locks or blocks. Parental controls help limit computer usage by children protecting them from several dangers.

11. Security in Vista includes inbuilt protection against rogue attacks, malware, spyware, adware and so on. In the case of Tiger its security system has remained secure and unbreached. Whether Vista will earn the same distinction will be known only after it comes into use.

12. Both Vista and Tiger have great networking features making both immensely usable both at home and in businesses. The Tiger is simpler while Vista is a bit more complex to use.

13. The hibernation mode works instantly in Tiger and Vista is also trying to match its facilities.
